For Business Owners
What to expect
Selling a business is a major decision. Every situation is different, but the path generally looks something like this.
-
01
Start with a conversation
We get to know each other. I want to understand the business, what you have built, and what you are hoping for in a transition. You can also learn more about me and decide whether continuing the conversation makes sense.
-
02
Learn more about the business
If there is mutual interest, I will ask for some basic information so I can better understand the business and determine whether there is a good fit.
-
03
Reach an agreement
If we both want to move forward, we will work toward an agreement on the major terms and what the path ahead should look like.
-
04
Take a closer look
Before completing the purchase, I will spend time understanding the financial, operational, and legal sides of the business and putting the financing in place. I will keep requests thoughtful, move efficiently, and work to minimize disruption to you and the business.
-
05
Close and transition
Once everything is in place, ownership transfers and we begin the transition. We will shape that handoff around what makes sense for you and the business.

What Comes Next
The business
I am buying a business to lead it for the long term. My goal is to build on what is already working, preserve the relationships and reputation that made the company successful, and give the team continuity through the transition.
Your transition
There is no single right way to step away from a business. Some owners want a clean handoff, while others prefer time to transfer relationships and knowledge. We can shape that transition around what works for you and the business.
